Fitzgerald Auto Mall created the "Cash 4 Clinkers” program because we are conscious of our
environment and believe in the need to reduce the number of older, polluting vehicles on the road today. Also, since our current inventory of quality used cars is the largest in our company’s 43 year history, we see the opportunity to provide a program to those left out of the CARS - Cash For Clunkers - program either because they wanted to purchase a used vehicle or because their vehicle did not meet the criteria of the CARS program (most notably the ineligibility of any trade-in that received a fuel economy rating above 18 mpg).

1. Must have a clear title (excludes any vehicle with a “branded” title, i.e. flood, salvage etc.).
2. Must be in safe and drivable condition.
3. Must have been continuously registered or titled in purchaser’s name for at least the past 6 months.
4. Is a 1989 Model Year or newer.

AND:

5. The purchased vehicle must be titled in same name (or immediate family member).
6. Only one “clinker” trade-in per transaction.

This price is also displayed in the windshield of every vehicle available for purchase. Whether you have a “Clinker” trade-in or not you pay the same low price.

NO. The trade-in of older cars on newer, late model used cars will on average improve the fuel economy and provide a positive environmental impact given the improved technology of the newer vehicles. This of course assumes you are purchasing a vehicle reasonably comparable to the one you trade (although this is not required).

Trades with lower mileage will in most cases qualify for a higher guaranteed trade value than those with higher mileage. Utilize the trade value selector on the home page to determine your vehicle’s guaranteed trade value. Also, please be aware that you will be required to certify as to the mileage on your trade pursuant to Federal Odometer Disclosure Laws (which govern all vehicle transactions between buyers and sellers).

NO. A voucher or sign up is not necessary to participate in this program. But, at your option, you may print a voucher from this website and bring it with you to the dealership.

The intent of the “Cash 4 Clinkers” program is to provide you the opportunity to trade your vehicle on a late model used car, truck, minivan or SUV. Each Fitzgerald dealership has designated the great majority of its 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, and 2009 inventory eligible under the program. Simply follow the instructions on the home page to determine both the value of your trade-in and the availability of eligible used vehicles. We will endeavor to maintain a selection of at least 500 used cars, trucks, minivans and SUVs.

While many of the trade-ins will likely be scrapped, some may be donated to schools and educational programs (technician training), or fire departments, or sold for parts. It is anticipated that some will be eligible for an extensive reconditioning program allowing them to be resold in the future.

NO. The program specifies that only one "Clinker" trade-in credit is available per transaction. You may, however, also trade in another vehicle in addition to your “Clinker” but it would not be eligible for the "Cash 4 Clinker" guaranteed trade value.

Depending on year, model, mileage, condition, special equipment and other factors your trade-in could be worth more than the "Cash 4 Clinkers" guaranteed trade value. We will provide a comprehensive written appraisal for your trade at the dealership. If the appraised value is more than the guaranteed value you will receive the higher amount.

We believe our 138 point inspection report is the most comprehensive inspection available in the industry. You will know just about as much about the car as we do. A copy of this report will be provided to you. Every vehicle also is guaranteed to pass all state safety inspection requirements.

Fitzgerald Auto Mall is doing our part to reduce the effect of fossil fuels through our partnership with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and purchase of only green power. To be eligible for the guaranteed trade-in amount under this program, it is required that the trade vehicle must be capable of safe operation on the roadway. This includes the ability of the engine and transmission systems to start, propel, adjust, and maintain road speed; the steering system to respond safely; the braking system to stop the vehicle within a safe distance and in a safe manner. Additionally, the doors, trunk lid, hatchback, hood, lights, horn and signals must operate as designed by the vehicle manufacturer. We reserve the right to reject a vehicle for any other reasonable issue that affects its “safe and drivable” condition or where vehicle components have been removed or substituted.

NO.. The Cash4Clinkers guaranteed trade-in offer cannot be combined with any other promotional or special program offered by FitzMall including (but not limited to) the zero percent financing option.
